The use of onion juice for growing hair has not been extensively done. But a small study in the Journal of Dermatology indicated that onion juice did help regrow hair in the scalps of some study participants who had alocepia areata, a non-scarring, patchy form of hair loss.


Hair growth started after two weeks of treatment, with the onion juice applied to their scalps twice daily. 87 percent had hair growth after 6 weeks. The study had 38 participants, both male and female. This means 33 of them had successful hair growth with onion juice.

How To Prepare Onion Juice For Hair Growth



Step #1


Peel four onions and chop them into small pieces.


To extract the juice, do it either by squeezing or using a juicer. Squeezing it manually might irritate your eyes, so use eyes protection. Another alternative is putting the cut pieces into a blender and mixing them into a paste.


Step #2


Place the paste into a cheesecloth or any clean fabric with very small holes and squeeze all the juice out. If you can't stand the smell, add drops of any essential oil to dilute the smell. The likes of peppermint, lavender, and rosemary. Even drops of lemon juice or rose water can help.


Step #2


Apply the juice to the scalp and hair roots. Let the juice stay in your hair for at least 1 hour and then you can wash your hair with a mild shampoo.


For best results, use this remedy at least every other day for 4-6 weeks.
